What is the "Calm AI" approach, exactly?

It's a framework for using AI in education thoughtfully without the panic, the pressure, or the feeling that you're already three steps behind. Calm AI means starting where you are, making intentional choices about when and how AI serves your students, and never losing the human heart of teaching in the process. It's not about doing more with AI. It's about doing the right things with it.

Is AI going to replace teachers?

No. And I won't sugarcoat why: AI can automate tasks, generate text, and analyze patterns, but it cannot build the kind of relationship that makes a student feel seen, safe, and capable of doing hard things. That relationship is irreplaceable. What AI can do is take some of the administrative weight off your plate so you have more energy for the work only you can do.
What makes your approach different from other AI-in-education content?

I'm not here to sell you on AI. I'm here to help you think clearly about it. My work is grounded in teacher experience, learning science, and genuine ethical reflection not product demos or productivity hacks. I believe students and teachers deserve transparency about when and how AI is being used. That thread runs through everything I create.
Do I need to be tech-savvy to benefit from your books, community, or sessions?

Not at all. I write and teach for humans, not technologists. If you can navigate email and a Google Doc, you have everything you need. The goal is never to impress you with what AI can do — it's to help you make confident, informed decisions about it.

This community isn't the right fit if you're looking for quick hacks or shortcuts to automate your way through teaching. It's also not designed for district-level policy rollout — for that, my speaking and consulting work is a better fit. If you want slow, grounded, human-centered learning about AI, you're home. If you want the fastest path to the most AI tools, there are other communities for that.
What does a typical month look like?

You'll have access to the self-paced courses anytime. Once a month, we gather live for a Q&A. I answer questions members submit in advance, plus whatever comes up in real time. The community space is active in between, with questions, reflections, and resources members share with each other. There's no required weekly commitment or homework. You take what you need when you need it.
How is this different from just reading your books or watching free content?

The books give you the framework. The community gives you the ongoing support. When something new happens in AI (a new tool, a new concern, a new policy debate) you have somewhere to process it with someone who's been thinking carefully about this for years. That continuity is what memberships do that books and blog posts can't.
What if I fall behind or can't make a live session?

Everything is recorded and available inside the community. There's no "behind" here — the self-paced courses are yours to move through on your schedule, and the live Q&A recordings are saved so you can watch anytime. Life happens. The content stays.
What does it cost?

Calm AI Office Hours is $37/month or $347/year (that saves you $97 — basically two months free). The price will increase once we reach 50 members, so the people who join early lock in the founding rate.
Is there a refund policy?

Monthly memberships can be cancelled anytime — you won't be charged again after you cancel, and you keep access through the end of your current billing period. Annual memberships are non-refundable after the first 14 days, but I'm happy to talk through any concerns before you commit. Reach out at kristina@kristinalecrone.com.

I tailor every session to where your district actually is, not where the headlines assume you should be.
Can you work with our entire staff, not just a small group?

Yes. I've designed sessions that work for large faculty meetings, department PLCs, and small team workshops. Whether you have 20 teachers or 200, we can structure something that meets your people where they are — including the skeptics and the overwhelmed, not just the early adopters.
How long are your sessions?

Sessions typically run 60–90 minutes for a single workshop, and I also offer half-day and full-day professional development formats for deeper dives. For multi-session partnerships, we can build a sequence that builds on itself over a semester or school year.
What makes your district PD different from a typical AI training?

Most AI training I've seen is tool-focused — here's how to use ChatGPT, here's how to use this platform. My sessions are decision-focused. We talk about when to use AI, how to talk to students about it, how to protect academic integrity without punishing curiosity, and how to build a culture of thoughtful use rather than fearful avoidance. Teachers leave with clarity, not just a new app to try.
Do you have materials we can keep after the session?

Yes. Every session includes resources your teachers can reference and return to — not a stack of slides, but practical tools they can actually use in their classrooms and conversations. I also offer follow-up options so the learning doesn't stop when I leave the building.

Do you work with districts outside your local area?

Yes — I work with districts across the country, both in person and virtually. Many of my most meaningful sessions have happened over Zoom with teams I've never met in person. Geography isn't a barrier.
